I create “graphic content bundles” for Instagram. This bundle has a beachy boho theme and contains graphics with costumizable text, icons for highlights or stickers and post and story background animations (motion graphics).

Graphic design
After brainstorming for the theme “beachy boho” i started creating thumbnails for various designs. Once I’d chosen the best combination of designs, I hand drew them in Procreate. After importing the drawing with all of my designs to Adobe Illustrator, I decided against recreating refined versions of my designs. Instead I used ‘image trace’ to to preserve the authentic uneven lines and the relaxed aesthetic that you can only truely get by hand drawing.

Custom font
I created a custom font for this project in Adobe Illustrator, since text would be a dominant element in many of the designs and I wanted the font to have the right look and feel well integrated in the designs by mimicing the drawing style. The font is inspired by retro fonts such as ‘Hip Pocket’, ‘Keep on Truckin’ and ‘Hendrix Groove’, and the lines are soft and curvy like ocean waves.

Motion graphics
When I make motion graphics for my content bundles I always use Adobe After Effects. It takes very little time and effort to create a short animation that loops from a vector illustration, while it creates a lot of value to have a more dynamic post that catches the eye.

AI generated images
I like to create realistic mockups of instagram pofiles and posts for my content bundles. It makes it easier to visualise how the content could be used for a brand and what it would look like in a flow of posts on Instagram.

I used Adobe Firefly to generate images of people in bohemian clothing, surfboards, vans, picnics at the beach and all of the other imagery that is related to the bohemian and surfer lifestyle. AI generated images never come out just as you want it, so I used the AI tools in Photoshop to refine the images – clear the sky, remove a plant, change a dress, add birds and so forth. On the mockup of the phone, I used a photoshop template for the phone and then used AI to generate the sand and shadow in the background.
